Fibre Heroes have now built to more than 10,000 premises in Staffordshire

This long-anticipated upgrade means that residents in the Staffordshire towns of Leek, Cheadle (Including Upper Tean), Kinver and Tutbury will have access to 100% fibre optic internet.

Work in Kinver and Tutbury is on-going, and as services continue to go live, they will provide more dependable internet connections, with 1Gbps download speeds that are 20 times faster than the national average.

With an investment in this build in Staffordshire of just over £16.6million, and a build cadence of 10,000 premises per month across its UK operations, the Fibre Heroes team is firmly focussed on its mission to connect the underserved towns of the UK with superior broadband.

Staffordshire County Council’s cabinet member for environment, infrastructure and climate change, Simon Tagg, said, “It’s great news that 10,000 Staffordshire properties are now ready to connect to ultrafast broadband through Fibre Heroes, and we’d like to commend its team for the rapid roll-out. Full fibre speeds really do make a difference, enabling people to access health, education, banking and leisure services and more. It is also critical for business operations, growth and increased productivity”.
